Cheryl M. Manley is the Senior Vice President and Associate General Counsel, Employment Law at Charter Communications. In her role as the leader of Charter’s Employment Law Group, Ms. Manley oversees a team of attorneys and support staff. Her varied responsibilities include managing all employment litigation, strategizing with senior executives as to the application of employment laws, ensuring Charter’s compliance with applicable employment laws, providing legal counsel and guidance to human resource leaders in the investigation of harassment, discrimination, and other employment-related complaints, overseeing the immigration activities of foreign nationals sponsored by the company, serving on Charter’s corporate compliance team, assisting in the development of human resources policies and procedures, developing training courses for human resources leaders, managers, and employees with regard to employment laws, and participating in the implementation of a myriad of corporate-wide initiatives. Ms. Manley participated in Charter’s Executive Leadership Institute.

Prior to joining Charter, Ms. Manley was in-house labor and employment counsel for a national manufacturing company.  Ms. Manley was also employed as an associate in the labor and employment department of Husch Blackwell (formerly Blackwell Sanders Peper Martin LLP). Upon graduating from law school, Ms. Manley served as a judicial law clerk in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri.

Ms. Manley has been a member of Women in Cable Television and the National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications. In 2016, Ms. Manley was recognized by Cablefax for her contributions to the cable industry by being named one of Cable’s Most Influential Minorities.

Ms. Manley has served on the board of directors for several not-for-profit organizations, including St. Louis Police Athletic League, Lutheran Children and Family Services, Boys Hope Girls Hope of St.

Louis, and Youth in Need. Ms. Manley is a volunteer for Crisis Aid International, having traveled to

Ethiopia to further the organization’s mission.

Ms. Manley is a graduate of Old Dominion University (cum laude) and St. Louis University School of Law.
