As Board Chair of NAMIC (National Association of Multi-Ethnicity in Communications), Emory Walton leads a board of senior executives dedicated to expanding career and leadership opportunities, ensuring the industry reflects a full spectrum of diverse perspectives and talent. He is committed to fostering access, equity, and representation across the media and communications landscape.
In his role as Vice President, Content Distribution at A+E Networks, Walton oversees a cross-divisional team responsible for negotiating major distribution agreements, optimizing revenue, and managing relationships with content distributors across the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean. He works closely with internal and external partners to drive growth strategies, ensuring A+E’s content is widely accessible across linear, digital, and emerging platforms.
A strategic leader with a deep understanding of the evolving media ecosystem, Walton has successfully navigated complex negotiations, spearheaded transformative initiatives, and played a key role in shaping distribution strategies that align with shifting market dynamics. He also serves as Co-Chair of A+E’s Multicultural Advisory Committee, helping to advance broader perspectives in content and brand marketing.
Recognized for his impact on the industry, Walton has been named one of CableFAX’s Most Influential Executives, honored as a NAMIC Luminary, and is a WICT Advocate Leader Award recipient. He is also a member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and Beta Gamma Sigma, the international business honor society.
Walton holds a BA in Communication Studies with a specialization in Business from UCLA and an MBA from Loyola Marymount University. He is also a graduate of the NAMIC Executive Leadership Program at UVA Darden School of Business, as well as executive programs at Harvard Business School and UCLA Anderson School of Management.
