Award Description

Next Generation Leaders (NGLs) and Luminaries are emerging business leaders of diverse ethnicity or race in the media and entertainment industry who are honored for both their career successes and commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

NAMIC Next Generation Leader Awards (NGL)

The Next Generation Leader Awards represent the industry’s top honor by recognizing the best-of-the-best. These industry leaders have distinguished themselves as thought leaders, trendsetters, and change agents. They embody the NAMIC mission and have actively worked to advance multi-ethnic diversity in the industry by educating, advocating, and empowering people and organizations.

NAMIC Luminary Awards

The Luminary Awards honor up-and-coming leaders who show the most potential to become tomorrow’s movers and shakers. These men and women are the rising stars in our industry who demonstrate strong leadership skills and embrace NAMIC’s mission by working to advance multi-ethnic diversity.

  • Submission Deadline: Friday, June 14, 2024
  • Winners Announcement: July 2024
  • This prestigious group of leaders will be recognized during the Annual Awards Luncheon at the 38th Annual NAMIC Conference, October 22-23, 2024.

Entry Criteria:

  • Must be a current NAMIC member
  • Senior leader with demonstrated ability to lead with courageous decision making to meet key organizational objectives

Application Requirements:

  • One (1) professional reference letter that would support the nomination
  • Essay (500 words or less)
  • Resume/bio
  • High resolution (300 dpi) professional headshot

Essay Prompts:

In an essay of 500 words or less, please tell us about your nominee and why the individual is worthy of the Next Generation Leader Award:

  • Why are they an industry leader in the industry and/or their company?
  • What specific changes have been produced in the company or industry at large as a result of their efforts?
  • How have they contributed to promoting multi-ethnic diversity in his/her company and/or the industry at large?
  • How have they advanced the ideals of NAMIC within their company or the community at large?
