I was struck how every single detail was thought out from the bus pickup time to start time and how all that magically realized into a precise 830am start every single day to how we were positioned and stood and smiled in our photos.

I worked in the hotel business as front desk as my gig during high school, college and grad. We were trained to anticipate needs. When I see it, I notice it. And, you all NAILED IT!

The “run-of-show” was flawless. The backdrop that was fall time VA (and I know because I’m from VA and it’s “home”) was breathtaking. The “ensemble cast,” being our professors, treated us with dignity and mutual respect as they pushed us intellectually. The Residence Inn staff to Maurice & Will, our bus drivers, just reminded me why I love being back home for that Southern hospitality.

…but…

I can’t go without giving you all your flowers.

Each of you made sure we were tended to, on track in all ways and treated like royalty.

For context, my days are usually spent ushering my 5yo to school each morning to Manhattan from Bronx, dashing back to the office or home office, working well into the evenings (for BET things and other passions outside of work), crashing and rinsing and repeating. This chapter in my life doesn’t give way to much time to reflect, self-care, connect with other likeminded folks, eat delicious meals, receive compliments on my scarves and outfits (here’s lookin’ at you, Patti) and simply be a student in life. As you can imagine, it’s been such a gift to just BE – student Bianca, intellectual Bianca, focused Bianca, feeling Bianca, dreaming Bianca and inspired Bianca.

Thank you for creating such a top notch “LX” (learning experience), being in service to us and taking care of us from soup to nuts.
